The Provident Bank and CFT: Teller Supervisor Certification

Earlier this year, CFT was contacted by The Provident Bank, with administrative offices in Iselin, NJ, to provide a customized Teller Supervisor Certification Program (TSC) for approximately 90 employees.  Jamie Schenck, senior trainer and curriculum design specialist with CFT worked with Elaine Cullen of The Provident to design a three-module program to be delivered over a three-month time frame.  The modules consisted of:  1) The Characteristics of a Successful Supervisor (Attitude, Loyalty, Communication Skills, Fairness, Delegation, Employee Engagement, Operational Responsibilities); 2) Your Team (Scheduling, Communication Process, Holding Successful Meetings); and 3) Your One-on-One with Employees (Coaching, Counseling, Disciplinary Action, Performance Appraisals).

The TSC program began in April and was completed in June 2011.  In recognition of employees completing the program, The Provident held a Recognition Banquet on June 21st, at the Imperia Restaurant in Somerset, NJ.  Janet Krasowski, Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer congratulated the graduates and to their delight made a surprise announcement that each individual would receive a $500 stipend in their July 1 paycheck!  CFT provided the Teller Supervisor Certification Certificates which were distributed by Michael Piccolo, Vice President and Branch Administrator of The Provident.  Karen McMullen, Senior Vice President & Regional Director of CFT announced that one (1) CFT credit would be given to each graduate in the Communication category to be used toward a CFT Certificate and/or Diploma.

An excellent event and example of how CFT and The Provident Bank work together!

  2. The training, and the banquet, was fantastic… The $500 stipend, for all who completed the program, is another example of the commitment that The Provident Bank has made to encourage their employees to be “the best they can be”. Kudos to The Provident.
