In banking, risk management is always en vogue. Now more than ever though it seems to be a re-emerging hot topic amongst bank regulators. From regulatory risk to reputation risk every action a financial institution takes opens the door to some level of potential consequence which must be considered. Most times these consequences, while unintended, are not wholly unexpected. Sometimes however the results can be unfortunate and totally surprising.
