Introduction to Commercial Lending Seminar

The approach to commercial lending is very different from traditional consumer or mortgage lending. Workshop attendees will develop the skills needed to analyze and qualify the business loan applicant, using the Five C’s of Credit from a business loan standpoint: Capacity, Capital, Collateral, Character, and Conditions. Introduction to Commercial Lending will provide a systematic approach to review and underwrite commercial loan requests. From application to loan decision, this workshop creates a sound basis for business lending and the foundation for continued training. Topics in this program will include the following: indentifying cash flow; understanding the balance sheet and income statement; permanent working capital; operating cycle; identifying borrowing needs; and trend analysis.

- Determine loan structure
- Identify potential red flags in business performance
Audience: This seminar is intended for new commercial lenders, branch managers, business development officers and as a review for more experienced lenders.
